A young Irish female teacher was found dead in her Stirling Road apartment on Wednesday night.
According to The Straits Times, Miss Orla Daly -- who hails from the town of Clontarf in Dublin and was believed to be teaching English to young students here -- was reportedly found dead in bed by her friend who came to Singapore with her in January.
She was pronounced dead by paramedics who went to the scene after the police received a call at 10.59pm that night requesting for assistance at a residential unit along Stirling Road.
Prior to her death, Miss Daly had told friends on Twitter that she "couldn't be happier" and was "loving it so much over here".
She also wrote that "everything had fallen into place".
Meanwhile, tributes for her poured in on her Facebook page, with one friend saying that he would always remember her smile.
Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs is said to be offering assistance to her family, while the police say they are in contact with the Irish Embassy and they will be meeting Ms Daly's family, who have flown to Singapore, today (Aug 10).
