The 'Exclusive Singapore LIONSXII'Facebook page published this update; "PM Lee will be coming down on Tuesday to grace the LIONSXII last home game against Felda United".
What was meant to be a simple act to lend some VIP encouragement to the LIONSXII's attempt to win the Malaysian Super League for the first time has turned into a politics-laden string of comments blasting the PM for being a "glory hunter" - to steal the glory away from the LIONSXII, a team comprising of an all-local outfit.
Mind you, the comments show the degree of Singaporeans' anger and resentment towards PM Lee and his government, including President Tan. Here are some comments to share, to allow them to tell of the frustrations as they are ...
Joshua: "ask PM why he come? He glory hunter?
Khudsairi: "One seat wasted"
Razali Sue: "Haze PSI high, MISSING. Haze PSI low, Magically appears. LIONSXII tough times, MISSING. LIONSXII good times, Magically appears ... I see a pattern here"
Fangwee Wee: "Let him go see no FT we can also make it ... it's a matter of whether he believes in Singaporeans or not ..."
Diaspora: "a fair weathered fan".
Beemer: "... dia dtg buat pe? ... dia punya seat kat stadium kasi fans yang tk dpt tiket ..."
(... he come do what? ... his seat at the stadium should be given to fans who couldn't get tickets").Mohammad B: "Why ask PM to come for this game when the players had played their hearts out (through the season) and didn't get any support. They even had to use their own NS leave to play in away games..."
Eliaz T: "knn ... ask him go watch table tennis lah ... and ask him to eat shit ..." and, "pergi lah, mampos. Ape dia tau pasal bola? ... he only knows how to make more money for himself and his FamiLEEs only ..."
Yazrul R: "Dia masuk je ramai2 "booooo" kam dia ...." (when he makes his entry, everybody "booooo" him).
A'eez M: "For what he come? Simply a waste of time".
Aidi P: "Suay lah he comes".
Harith T: "He come just to hand over the trophy to our Sharil or wat.??? So whole Singapore will remember him???? Tell him to go n settle the haze prob first.."
Isn't it quite clear? Every single word expressed speaks for itself. And all these comments are made in a non-political environment. The winds of change is now out of the PAP's control. It is here and unless the PAP resort to the types of politics found in North Korea, there is simply no way for the PAP to turn things around. And i hope he wears pink on Tuesday.
