Dear TRS, SingPost Blatantly Leaves Open the Master Doors and Delivers Junk Mail

Dear TRS,

I would like to share what happened to my HDB block Letterbox Masterdoors recently. At around 10.10am on 14 November 2014, it was spotted that HDB block Letterbox Masterdoors were left opened and unattended when I was at the void deck to check my Letterbox. During that time, I managed to get a few residents living in my block to witness what has happened to the Letterbox Masterdoors.

One of the witness called up Singpost and I managed to meet up with the Inspector of Post whom was there to close the Letterbox Masterdoors at about 11.15am. He took some pictures of the Letterbox Masterdoors and assured that he will be investigating on the matter. Inspector of Post mentioned to me that the Postman in charge of my area was of high seniority and he was uncertain whether he was the culprit who has left the Letterbox Masterdoors opened and unattended. He also said that some of the postmen were sacked when they were discovered duplicating the Letterbox Masterdoors keys to outsiders or keeping them for their own unauthorised use.

This leads to the rationale of why the Letterbox Masterdoors were left opened and unattended. As I was a victim of SingPost persistent junk admails since opting out in 2009, I have been investigating on why this has been happening despite having several stickers pasted at my Letterbox pigeon hole stating "No Admails". For this incident, I have coincidentally checked and took my Letterbox mails at about 9pm on 13 November 2014 which meant the culprit whom opened and left the Letterbox Masterdoors unattended was probably doing it in the morning of 14 November 2014 before 10.10am. For my Letterbox, only 3 new junk admails were added during that morning and it could possibly be the work of the one whom left the Letterbox Masterdoors opened and unattended. As the front Aperture of my Letterbox was already locked tightly with super glue since many years ago, it is unlikely that flyer distributors would slot into my Letterbox deliberately. It is therefore highly suspicious that the duplicate Letterbox Masterdoors keys were held by Outsiders/Flyer Distributors as SingPost always denied that those junk admails were from them. In the market, there are actually some flyer distributors which offered HDB Unlock Letter Box services openly. It is unknown how do they Unlock the HDB Letter Box with.

This is also not the first time someone reported here on similar happenings:

Dear TRS, Singapore Post keep leaving residents' mailbox open

I am sick of SingPost delivering mountains of junk mail to my letterbox

After months of analysis, I have come to a conclusion on these Junk Admails. It is either the SingPost whom has repeatedly sent the Admails despite me opting out or Outsiders have direct access to the Letterbox Masterdoors keys which allowed them to do so. Another thing to note is that, was SingPost involved in the conspiracy plan to allow third parties to hold the Letterbox Masterdoors keys? If they weren't involved, they could be losing millions of dollars income to third party flyer distributors whom hold the duplicate Letterbox Masterdoors keys and why didn't they want to stop it? SingPost has appeared defensive since August 2014 on all Admails received in my Letterbox although the flyer distributor at my vicinity by the name of "Victor" has confirmed that they used SingPost Admails services to put the Junk Admails into my mailbox. On IDA, they also appeared to be covering up for SingPost as they would take in whatever reason they have given although they are supposed to be overseeing them. IDA did not even bother if third party outsiders have the Letterbox Masterdoors keys access and would not take action against SingPost.

On the same day upon knowing my directly complaint to IDA, a SingPost filipino manager, Isabelo Manalo tried to quickly "fix and close the case" by sending me an email at 5.49pm claiming that the Inspector of Post assigned to my area has already addressed the matter. In the meanwhile, I will still be waiting patiently for the investigation outcome from the Inspector of Post on why the mailbox was left opened and why the Admails was coincidentally slotted in Letterbox when LetterBox Masterdoors were left opened.

Recently in September 2014, Singpost has raised the postage rate and yet this type of incident happened. When the security of Letterbox Masterdoors are compromised, what happen to the privacy of mails? Was this considered as acceptable mistake? Was it that the previous derisory fines were inadequate?
