Despite his health conditions, I personally think this man deserves more than a measly $16k a month. Considering what he has done for our country. Thats worth more than money. No amount of money can equate his contribution to singapore!
How would you feel if you are already in the nineties and you still can't rest? Give the man a break! The contribution that he has given to sg is immeasurable. I applaud him and hope that he can live out his remaining life in peace.

Lee Kuan Yew and his family deserves to be paid more than 16k/month even after his death because of the huge amount of contribution he has done for Singapore. Even though he is too tired and old to carry out his MP duties in Tanjong Pagar, I agree with many other TRS readers that he deserve to be paid any amount of money he wants because the entire Singapore belongs to him and we should obey and respect him in any way we can.
I've known foreigners who didn't know where Singapore is but the moment they heard LKY, the sound of recognition echoed! Picking on the sad fact that he can't stand on his own is one of the meanest thing I ever heard. No difference from that Jover guy.
Yes, he cost us (the tax payers) $16k/mth...
But without him building up Singapore with the others pioneer ministers, we (the tax payers) cannot have such a Singapore to stay in. Although $16k/mth is alot of money, but at least i feel he worth the price for what he had did in the past.
Did u read your history books? Do u know what LKY has done for Singapore? Do you remember what your parents have done to bring you up? Do you give your parents monthly allowance? If so, why shouldn't the nation (our tax money) take care of the founding father of modern Singapore? I disagree with you that Lee Kuan Yew should only be given a pioneer generation card just like the other elderly in Singapore. Lee Kuan Yew is just not a normal elderly, he is a higher being compared to the other elderly in Singapore. Those elderly that you see picking up cardboard or working in food court is because they are lazy their whole life which is why they have to still work so hard at old age.
I seriously suggest you return to your History lessons or perhaps read on our Nation's building facts. You are so pathetically ignorant.
