Brazil’s national football coach, Dunga criticised the state of the grass at the National Stadium today after his team had their first training session there this afternoon.

He said frankly that Brazil always tries to put on a good show but the pitch at the National Stadium may prevent them from doing so.

Dunga said “to do that, you need good conditions. The field here is not very good. Most of it is sand and not grass. It is hard to pass the ball. There is more chance of getting injured on this field. As there is a lot of sand, it can create holes in the ground. But I can't tell now if players will get injured."

Brazil is set to verse Japan in a friendly match at the stadium tomorrow night but on top of the poor pitch conditions and fatigue among his players, Dunga is considering sending out the reserves and keeping the best players off the field tomorrow.

Brazil on Saturday beat Argentina in Beijing and they arrived in Singapore on Sunday morning. Dunga said that he will check his players’ tiredness and only keep the same line-up if they are feeling ok.

He explained that their team had a long journey to China and the air pollution had made the players very tired.
