Cheated Singaporeans must demand for a referendum

The Scottish referendum reminds me of  the last referendum held in Singapore in 1962 over merger with Malaysia. We were once Malaysian citizens, LOL, but thanks to the impatience and aggressive rhetoric of one PM, now widely denounced as a dictator, the then Malaysian PM Tungku Abdul Rahman kicked us out of Malaysia.

Many Singaporeans have now woken up to the fact that Singapore has become a country with not one unified nationality but four, with PRC, India and the Philippines being the dominant ones.Ever since the ruling PAP opened the floodgates to hordes of people from third world countries, the country has been bedeviled by a host of problems.

To justify sinking an island of merely 700 sq km, PM Lee conjured up the idea of the 6.9m Population White Paper. To no one’s surprise, it was steamrollered through “Parliament”.

With its two-thirds majority  in “Parliament” the ruling PAP MPs, whose preference to be obedient parrots rather than true representatives of the people,  it was a walk in the park to pass the Bill.

In other words, the Bill was unceremoniously rammed down our throats.

A 6.9 population will greatly negatively impact on the quality of life in Singapore. The 5.3 million squeeze now already hints that the worse is in the offing in the near future.

We demand a referendum on the issue of 6.9m. That the Bill was passed in great haste and little public debate and feedback is an abuse of power and Parliament as adjudged by the court of public opinion.

Singaporeans, born and bred here and who helped build up the nation, have the right to decide their future. Our future cannot and must not be decided by the ruling party’s parrots in the guise of being MPs.

What is clear is the fact that PM Lee and his sycophantic Cabinet and MPs are fulfilling the SINGAPORE DREAM for foreigners.

In contrast, true blue Singaporeans see their SINGAPORE DREAM in tatters. Some in fact are already making exit plans.

In a last-ditch effort to hang onto power, the ruling PAP has sold out the country. In truth, it has betrayed Singaporeans hasn’t it?

HARDY BOYS
