This is a blatant abused of the People’s Association. The PA is a statutory board not a corollary of the PAP political party. And yet they have abused the PA to position their candidates or potential candidates for political mileage. And in this process they have used funds by the people of Singapore to fund activities that are overtly partisan and contrary to PA’s mission of socially cohesiveness.
The laws of our land do not protect us from such abuses. And here is why progressive citizens and forward looking and competitive people see PA with disdain. The PAP has through their shameless manipulation of our statutory boards to do partisan work have put them on the road to disrepute.
If that Josephine Teo wonders naively again why people are angry, look no further than the bare fact and naked truth, PAP abuses the PA and other statutory boards for its partisan agenda.
While Christians build churches, Muslims build mosques, Buddhists and Hindus build temples, PAP builds Community Centers. If ever people think that religion is dead, come to Singapore, the high priests preach immortality as well, long term goals that stretch to eternity. They even have the trinity of PMs appropriately the Father, Son and the Holy Goh.
The candidates of PAP are built upon the funds of Singapore people. They are bred with complacency through using government structures to avoid competition. No one ask Singaporeans whether PAP candidates can use PA to advance their partisan agenda. What glory is there winning with such unfairness? Can men and women that use such systems be trusted? The shuffling of PAP candidates using PA and therefore the funds of Singapore citizens will never be accepted by a developed country. Only third world politics embark on such shameless practice. Why? Because they are afraid of competition. Contrary to their meritocratic credentials that they awarded themselves, they have fears. Fears make people cowards, and cowards hate competition.
The same hilarity that guided the YPAP video now usurps PA but with insipidity. PAP is a party that grew fat on their predecessors, they have lost their verve and they are crass now, and damn sordid in politics.
Can men and women that use this patronage system be good for a progressive nation? When they are cushion from competition? When they are taught that such systems are appropriate for Singapore? To disregard checks and balances normal in any developed country?
PAP, you serious?
