The ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition has taken back the state of Kedah by a razor-thin majority of three seats.
BN secured 21 out of the 36 state seats in Kedah, according to the New Straits Times. Mr Mukhriz Mahathir would likely be installed as Kedah’s new chief minister.
Also at stake in today’s general election were 15 parliamentary seats.
Nearly 73 per cent of Kedah’s 1,041,000 voters cast their ballots today.
