Dear fellow Singaporean,

I am a local born Chinese male 43 years old. I do not wish to dwell on the sobering past as I really need to provide for my family and kid now.

I have been jobless and finding it very difficult to land a job despite sending out hundreds of resumes. I have to move on as otherwise I will never lift myself out of depression.

A bit of background of myself, I am a graduate from NUS with a degree of Bachelor of Arts and an MBA from a UK university.

I have been in the corporate world for 19 years until I was coerced to leave my last company though I am affirmative that I am not in the wrong.

I am tempted to expose the deeds of this company and how I was being treated.

I have been finding jobs since then and I am willing even to be based oversea to work.

I have send my resumes literally to all private institutions in Singapore hoping I can get an opportunity to teach undergraduate albeit devoid of teaching experiences I can more than make up for this by my corporate experiences all these years.

All this has come to no avail.

I don’t know why.

The last resort now is for me to teach A level economics. I have an A for my A level GCE and an A for Economics for my MBA .

I do not know whether can my credentials meet the requirements to go into private tutoring, I have been writing to several tuition center to ask for advice but again to no avail.

Nobody is willing to share with me anything as I need to familiarize with current syllabus.

I cannot do manual work as I have back problems with disc prolapsed otherwise I would have do it as my saving is drying out soon.

Is that any career consultant over your end that can help me? To address all my queries?

Thank you if you are able to help. THANK you

Best Regards

Thomas

Editor’s note: We have provided Thomas with a career coach to guide him along during this difficult period.
