I refer to Lily Neo: I can't Help Singaporeans When There is Too Much Red Tape Surrounding CPF.
The article received many likes and indirectly, PAP MP Lily Neo is admitting that there is much to be done but she has her hands tied. She is after all, from PAP and needs to toe the line. Her paymaster is still PM Lee and if she is too outspoken, she can be fixed, just like Ngiam Tong Dow who had to retract back his statements. Another example is Dr Tan Cheng Bock who had the guts to stand up to PAP.
If she joins the opposition, she can fully utilise her potentials. Look at Dr Vivian and Chan Chun Sing, both are intelligent and smart unfortunately they have to defend the illogical and that puts their credibility on the line. (Chan Chun Sing's "Election Boxes are Not Controlled Items"). It's like joining the debate but you given a very tough point of view that holds limited to no merits.
Previously, I mentioned Dr Neo should switch to opposition.

If an employee does not share the same vision as his or her employer, then it is better to leave the organization. No point wasting anyone's time, because life is really very short, and everyone has got only one shot to make it good, You won't perform well in the organization anyway.
Previously, when I worked in HDB, I can relate to Dr Neo's sentiments.
Anger, frustration over HDB's inflexibility and stubborn-ness etc.
On one hand, I was told to toe the line and follow policies rigidly, but on the other hand, how I wish I could be the one that can break the rules.
This episode illustrates why it is so important to have political competition and to have more civil servants voting for opposition parties.
Having one more PAP MP and giving PAP a high mandate in GE2016 will pressurise PAP to relook their policies to change for the better.
Civil servants like Dr Lily Neo may also find it easier in her own job to handle residents' problems when the policies are better tuned to Singaporeans' needs.
