MHA is acting in contempt of the court with their public statements. They are not to put forth any statement to the public or speak to the press when the case is before the court. They should not create prejudices against the case to influence its outcome. The ministry should know better because the law of this country is under its purview. What they are doing is they are making a joke of our judicial system by confirming that the law in this country is prejudiced against groups of people and is manipulated by the government to their own gain.
MHA is opening a pandora’s box which is implicating the whole system in this country.
How many have died and how many innocent men or women’s lives have been destroyed by this double standard party which has been in power for 50 years? International reviews that give this country a clean bill of health saying that it is the less corrupted country in the world are just too dumb to know anything.
The family lawyer of Dinesh needs to file another report for MHA’s contempt of court. It is sad. Sad for us, citizens of Singapore. We have the best paid politicians. Civil servants are well paid too, especially the top level ones. That the government with all the resources available to them act in this manner is reprehensible. Dinesh is a citizen. It is clear and well known that he has done wrong which led to his jailing. His offences were also known. Why then is it necessary to again put him in the spotlight and tarnish him further? It is again counter productive. The public will question. It is obvious now that the government cannot win the argument. In fact, they’ve already lost it. The court has already fined the senior prison officer $10,000 and he has been reported as having been sacked.
Whatever the outcome the public has to be assured that a tragic outcome like Dinesh’s must not happen again. Failure to assure the citizens and people in this regard is simply unacceptable.
