Here’s another 1st for Singapore, all thanks to the PAP government.
Our train system comprises of the East/West Line, North/South Line, Circle Line, Northeast Line, Downtown Line, Thomson Line and what not.
They are not only cover much of the island but is capable of sporadic bursts of speed to 90km/h on good days.
It is also actually a roller-coaster cum train system with regular scheduled jerks and the latest in sudden braking and acceleration. Sometimes it evens stops to build up the excitement for what is to come next.
Only the world class PAP government run by million dollar ministers plucked from the civil service or military, legal or medical industries is capable of providing its citizens with daily almost round-the-clock entertainment at such competitive rates. Let’s not try to compare our systems with others around the world; we are uniquely Singapore.
Expectedly, this train cum roller-coaster system is so popular with the populace, they arrive in droves to ride it everyday causing obscene crowding on platforms and in trains themselves.
Not to be outdone, their rival land-based competitor actually hires daredevils from their very breeding ground to give citizens heart-stopping rides. Extreme and relentless acceleration unburdened by pesky obstacles like trees, road dividers, cars and cheapo pedestrians. From time to time, these daredevils will even bring you on an unscheduled detour just to give you that sense of mystery.
Notably, they too subscribe to the school of sudden braking but they have one huge advantage: The ability to speed around bends and turnings that our train cum roller-coaster operators are unable to match………..but give them time.
To have the citizens complain constantly about these systems shows how noisy and ungrateful they are. Keep it up and some other operator may just take over and provide these citizens with regular transportation systems that provide only boring rides that simply get you from point A to point be in a predictable, monotonous and uneventful manner.
Life will be so boring then!
