Heng Swee Keat explains why PAP spends $36m a year educating foreign students.
He calls on Singaporeans not to have a "zero sum mentality" and says that Singapore's first generation leaders themselves received scholarships to study in Canada and Australia too.
"Being part of this global world, we also have responsibility to other people...and when our neighbors prosper, it is also good for us," he justifies.
Did current Singapore leaders also receive scholarships from Chinese and Indian Governments to study in those countries?
Heng's logic seems to be a bit warped considering that Singapore is already extending economic assistance to those countries especially to India and letting in hordes of their citizens into this country to work here.
