Someone tried to kidnap my 6yr old cousin at Vivo City!
This is a true story, please help to spread the word around!
My dear cousin (6yrs old) was ALMOST abducted at VivoCity, at the basement near Candy Empire when the family was about to have their dinner. My aunt, was waiting for her husband (who went off to the toilet), when she noticed this suspicious looking guy, tall and very big-sized, with one of his hands carrying plastic bags. My aunt felt something was not right, so she immediately grabbed my cousin's hand and reminded my cousin to stay close to her, while my aunt held tightly to her pram with her second child on the other hand.
Just at that moment, the suspicious-looking guy headed towards my aunt and attempted to grab my cousin away from my aunt. My vigilant aunt pulled my cousin away by instinct and shouted "NO", hoping that guy would back-off. However, the guy not only did not back off, he attempted to grab my cousin again. My aunt then quickly pushed her pram and my cousin away towards a more crowded region. The guy continue to follow my aunt.
Thankfully, my uncle came out of the toilet at that moment and spotted this guy following my aunt. He then quickly went to my aunt's side. When the guy saw my uncle, he slowed down his steps and finally back off. My aunt and my 6yrs old cousin were so frightened and the whole family left VivoCity without having their dinner.
Everyone, sharing this story to remind all of you, always remain vigilant especially in crowded areas of Singapore, not only in VivoCity. In this way, we can ensure the safety of the kids and also prevent cases of kids abduction from happening.
