Govt Should Look at Ways to Change Employers' Picky Mindsets

I refer to "Govt looking at ways to attract early childhood educators"

I have attended a few e2i sessions and I can attest that there is no shortage of applicants who wish to join early childhood educators.
I attended one e2i job fair last year. It was a Real Estate Construction Academy. Click on http://www.reca.edu.sg/ . Coincidentally, there was also an early childhood educators fair on Basement 1. When I popped into the room, there are at least 40 to 50 applicants.

I also frequently visit e2i job fair website and this early childhood educator job fair is always recurring and has been advertising aggressively. If each job fair can attract at least 50 job applicants, there is no lack of job applicants. Just that the employers are too picky for their own good.

It is one thing to write to the press and complain that there are not enough job applicants but in reality, they choose to be picky and reject most job applicants.

I have also attended a few job fairs organised by e2i. Some employers in the job fair such as TOUCH Community Services also advertise frequently on their NCSS Job Portal Website but also choose to put up an e2i job booth. Jurong General Hospital, was a huge disappointment. When I attended the e2i job fair, the HR executive simply told me to submit my testimonials and she will call me if I am successful for a job interview. Even the e2i person was surprised I came out of the job fair so quickly. Obviously, I didn't get any job interview at TOUCH or Jurong General Hospital.

The worst part of e2i was trying to duplicate/ copy existing job advertisements taken from Jobstreet.com.sg,Jobsdb.com.sg and compile them as if they were fresh advertisements. Shouldn't they respect copyrights from Jobstreet?

After that, e2i would compile them in a list and then e-mail blast them out to all pmets on their list.

Initially, I thought these are fresh job advertisements and sent my CV to them. When they matchmade me to the job employer in the email blast, it was in actual fact, the same job position which I applied a few months ago at Jobstreet.com.sg.
