Time flies, it has been a year since MrStyleKing.com was started. With each post published, and each few months dashing by, the counter has jump five six times, and MrStyleKing.com has reached its first Anniversary!
Many readers and visitors have been asking me..
“Why the name Mr Style King?”
“Shouldn’t Mr Style King be at least a Fashion Blogger going by the word “style” in your name?”
“Your tagline – I don’t do Style. I AM Style. Are you sure?”
“You don’t look at all stylish. Why so thick-skinned?”
….and the questions go on and on..
And I have even been publicly ridiculed by a very popular and influential female blogger for the use of my name, Mr Style King. Mind you, I have not even directly offended her in the first place. Yet I had insults hurled from her at me out of the blue. I had a torrid day that day.
Well I’ll like to say I can’t really remember the main reason for choosing Mr Style King as the name of my blog a year ago. In the first place I started this blog, it was more of a hobby, a place to document all the place that I had eaten at. It wasn’t begun with me being a “foodie” or “traveller” in mind.
That was the main reason for the lack of direction, organisation, and even the content of the posts. Then slowly more and more visitors started to come in, and that was then Mr Style King realize more have to be done, if not it’ll be quite disgraceful to show the visitors the lack of quality of the writing, and the food & travel blog.
Mr Style King took much pain, blood, sweat and tears, to improve the writing of the food & travel; much longer time was spent writing the reviews, from an hour to even up to half a day now for writing a single review. It’s not as easy as you think because you’ll have to do in-depth research prior to writing the post, think of what to write, how to describe the food, how to structure the sentences.
Following all the improvements now, I am still constantly pressuring myself to go up a notch or even a few notches better, and become better all round for Mr Style King. I am constantly worried my readers and visitors will get bored of my blog. I have to improve more. Change is the only constant. Hence now, I have brought on more writers on board Mr Style King to contribute different article topics. Topics such as bake & cook recipes that I hope will interest readers and visitors who are keen to spend more time in their kitchens to cook. Topics such as “WTF” that can be highly controversial and graphic in nature but non-sexual. Most importantly, different topics that will keep readers and visitors coming back to Mr Style King again.
All of you my readers and visitors are all very important to me, and have a special place in my heart. Every post I’ve written is all shared with you. Without you my readers and visitors, Mr Style King is nowhere.
