Dear TRS,
I worked as a sales executive in a financial services company. A regular salary paying job trying to make ends meet. I'm the sole bread winner as my wife left her job to take care of my 1 year old daughter.
My company had organisational restructure last month and they employed a new regional sales director. I report to him directly. He is an indian who was raised up in the UK and had been working in Singapore for the past 3 years. He speaks with a strong english accent.
Things began to change after he joined. He is arrogant, full of himself and likes to talk down to subordinates. Began to implement politics and micromangement (won't go into details on that). There was an incident whereby he took my wallet which I placed on my desk, inspected my IC without permission and laughed hard at the picture. That was totally rude and disrespectful.

The problem is that all the other colleagues in my office is made up of mainly foreigners and Singapore PRs that behaves like a foreigner. None of them treated Singapore like home but just a place for them to make money. I had no one to talk or confide my problems to.
Last Fri, we had a sales department lunch eating Italian buffet. After lunch, he sent a mass email to all my fellow colleagues with my name on the subject and a ninja turtle pic. It was very humiliating and totally unprofessional in doing so. Not only that, he sent another email to my colleague which addressed me as a 'turtle'. These incidents are clear that I have became a target of workplace bullying and as a local Singaporean, I was being verbally abused by an FT boss and laughed upon by my FT colleagues.
These incidents had tormented me over the weekend as I had to make a decision to stay in my job and support my family or suffer the injustice and more humiliation on the days moving forward. I tendered my resignation today and left with integrity. I dont have any regrets because I know that one day, he will face the consequences of his actions.
I'm writing this to warn all fellow Singaporeans to stand up against workplace bullying and it saddens my heart that there are such FTs who take advantage of local Singaporeans.
