Xenophobia had reached a new height with the arrest of fictional citizen Leslie Chew from fictional cartoon land Demon-cratic Singapore. We have so often heard about the perils of meddling with the affairs of another country - whether fictional or real. Just because the fictional land happens to to be situated within some real land, it does not give the police or the government any rights to infringe upon the fictional space.
Alas, that is not to be the case with the current PAP government given in to xenophobia of a different kind. It used to be that xenophobia was used to described the ill feelings of the people of one nation to another - and almost all the time from each one's own confines of his own country.
The PAP is responsible for the new twist by it's mad acceptance of cheap foreign labors disguised as foreign talents. The influx of these cheap labors from mostly cheap and backward lands is the reason why xenophobia is now experienced within the same space of this tiny land. And with more and more Singaporeans becoming more vocal over the discomfort they are feeling, that discomfort is now being transferred onto a government who knows it cannot politically survive for long. And because of this, the xenophobia towards is own citizens is becoming the new illness of a dying regime, giving xenophobia a new meaning which is now interpreted as "an ill feeling from those in authority towards those who show ill feelings towards the cheap foreign labor".
Some of you may ask why i am harping on the foreign cheap labors when Demon-cratic, Leslie, is being charged for sedition i.e. for being racially insensitive. Well, for those who are on the ground and who have been in close connect with the Malay community, they will know that the fact remains that the Malay community had never once believed that their space was never infringed upon. Gee, even foreigners know and take it for a fact that there is an attempt to "reduce the Muslim population" as shown by the police report made 12 hours ago against the Filipino national who made that comment.
Now, who is the cause of all these sentiments which are resurfacing after years of social harmony among the races of Singapore? Yet, none from this camp had been arrested or even taken in by the police for questioning. No one can deny that we have heard worse comments from prominent officials in that camp.
We are a nation doomed for damnation if we continue to do nothing about the collaboration among the powers that be which governs our lives. We will forever be governed by their wimps and fancies.
