The Great Singaporean Dilemma?

In many hearts, there might be an unresolved struggle. The struggle to come to terms with their country, themselves and their present rulers. What position should they take? What is best for themselves and Singapore? Who to believe? Which direction should the nation take going forward? Both narratives at either end of the political spectrum seem convincing and plausible? Who is actually right? Which narrative to believe?  Where to go from here? Should they continue to follow the system created in the past 50 years and the ascended rulers? Now that the chief “founder” is gone, would such blind allegiance be safe? Would they one day end up in the abyss and the point of no return?

Could what Singaporeans witness in the past week being something of a bygone era and nothing but just a relive of the past greatness of someone who built this place on the breaking backs and shoulders of the common man? Someone who had sacrificed but also got back much more than what he gave? The glory is the past and rewards more than dished out or taken long ago at many multiples? The future way forward is to put the ghost of past bad memories and economic success at huge human costs behind them? To live in the past glories and giving successors undeserved overiding powers and privileges are the greatest mistakes they are ever going to make in their entire lives? The successors have to earn the right to run and command the trust of the people? There may exist many duds feeding on the hard work and sacrifices of the past and current generations? People need a second opinion and a second team to assess objectively what are good and should be preserved and what are fatalistic liabilities that will take the nation and people down? The WRITINGS ARE ALL OVER THE WALL?

Being the byproducts of an unquestioning (education) system, the people are doomed? Majority are even not capable of asking the most basic questions vital to their future sustainability and longevity? They are just trained to blindly and quietly follow, dun ask any question and all will be fine and well? Even if the public transport system is overloadeded and breaking down frequently? The people will not wake up or unable to disbelieve the propaganda or drilling fed to them all these years? Is there no way out but eventual self implosion?

A system personified in the police running away and fleeing like COWARDS during the 2013 Little India Riot when confronted by unruly imported foreign workers but handcuffed and apprehended Singaporean adolescence like “BIG BULLIES “? The system is beyond redemption? The way forward now is the point of no return and down the slippery slope to the deepest valley and darkest abyss……? The people are doomed?
