PM and Ministers only Groom Ball-pickers, Not Strikers

The PAP leadership succession is not going according to plan. More precisely, it’s increasing difficult for PM Lee Hsien Loong to do another LKY’s political sucession from father to son.

Firstly, the public is extremely wary of PM Lee passing the political baton to his sons or even kins. Any direct attempt by the PM Lee to do this will be met by revulsion of the people. The PM and his administration can only bid their time for an more opportune moment amid the public hostility to the PAP.

Second PM’s anointed seat-warmer minister Chan Chun Sing is found wanting and not good enough to be pretender to the throne. A new seat-warmer must be found to be able to carry on the pretense long enough before the ‘Chosen One’ can be seen to have at least risen to the throne in his own rights. First, seat warmer Goh Chok Tong took 14 years to warm the seat for the present PM. No matter what or how long the PM of Singapore must always come from the Lee’s family tree.

What nonsense Goh Chok Tong’s football analogy of grooming forwards for the next PM. The old stalwarts of PAP should know better. Most probably they would be roaring with laughter at the present young and ambitious PAP ministers and MPs. For they know in their heart of hearts, PM Lee and his trusted lieutenants are only grooming ball-pickers and not strikers who may one day score their own goals against the PAP.
