Chock Soon Seng, 37, was sentenced to jail for three years for sexually abusing and threatening a 14 year old boy.
Chock had met the victim online through a mobile app Jack’d.
District Judge Mathew Joseph said that this case was also a good reminder that parents should not allow their children to surf the internet unsupervised as it could be exposing them to risks.
Chock had met the victim through the mobile app and started chatting to him about sexual matters. He asked if the boy, who he knew was only 14 at the time, if he wanted to “try” kissing and sex.
The boy replied that he did not want to try yet.
However, later, the man convinced the boy to meet him at his flat in Hougange Avenue 8 in February and March this year where he sexually abused the boy.
Chock took the boy to his bedroom and took off his clothes before taking photos of him with his iPad. He then put him on the bed and made him perform oral sex on him before doing the same to him.
The Boy realised after going home that the acts he had just performed were not right and they were disgusting.
When Chock invited him to meet up again, the boy refused then Chock threatened to post his naked pictures online and send them to his friends if he did not meet him again.
The young boy was scared and told his family about the incident and lodged a police report the next day.
This is the second time that Chock has been caught for the child-sex related offenses. In 2010 he was jailed 10 months for attempting to exploit a child while he was a school teacher.
He could have been jailed up to 10 years and fined for the acts.
