From text books for the young to the hardcopy newspapers for the old, Singaporeans across all ages have been told that the PAP policies are good. The PAP government will often support their policies with half-truth, unfounded principles and even threats. Take the CPF for example, the PAP claim that the CPF can provide a decent retirement for Singaporeans without bankrupting the country (half truth), and a pension scheme alternative is fiscally unsustainable (unfounded principles), and that Singaporeans will spend away their lifetime savings away on prostitutes (threats).
Interestingly, there is a substantial majority who believe in these lies to keep the PAP in power. Here are a few simple reasons why PAP policies are mainly lies:
1) Volunteer it
PAP claim that CPF is good, why don't we make it a volunteer scheme? If there is a low take-up rate for CPF, is it still as good as PAP claimed?
PAP claim that National Service is good, why don't they make it voluntary? If there are hardly any volunteers for NS, is it as good as PAP claimed? Our PAP MP Dr Janil Puthucheary and all women MPs didn't even volunteer for NS, don't they know NS is good for them too?
2) Wear our shoes
PAP claim that Singaporeans can own a HDB flat on a $1000 paycheck, if this is true, can we pay PAP Ministers $1000 instead of millions and have them living in HDB flats too?
PAP claim that we have world class public transport, if this is true, why dont the PAP MPs and Ministers take the public transport?
PAP claim that Singapore have no natural resources and that is why we cannot have a welfare state, if this is true, why are PAP MPs paid millions of dollars?
PAP claim that every school is a good school, if this is true, why does none of the PAP MPs send their children to a neighborhood school?
3) Contradiction
PAP claim that foreigners give Singaporens good jobs, if this is true, why have income not increased at the same rate as the population?
PAP claim that Singaporeans have a good life, if this is true, why are our purchasing power lower than people living in Kuala Lumpur?
PAP claim that raising the GST can help the poor, if this is true, why are there more poor people today than before?
PAP claim that degrees are not necessary for Singaporeans, if this is true, why are S Pass and E Pass holder Foreign Talents degree holders?
