Dear The Real Singapore,
I writing to you is regarding the situation in Sim Lim Square. We all know about the recent situation of Mobile Air bastards, and as someone who works there, nearly all of us hate to/never trade with the boss of that shop.
Now I know many people are like why the management is not forcing them to leave. The problem is, the management of the building really doesn't have the power at all.
All the shops in Sim Lim Square are owned by independent shop owners. It is the shop owner's right to rent or to use their property. The management only receive money from all shop owners for the building maintenance and taxes.
The owner of Mobile Air is like also the owner of the property, as a result, they have no rights to force him leave as he operates within his premises, there is no rent involved!
I hope this can be posted as I want more people to understand what is going and why it isn't as simple as forcing him out. The only way out is our "mighty" government to confiscate his property or permanently ban him from obtaining any business licenses.
