Finally, my first day of saying what my heart desires without the worry of any conflict of interest. And for the first time too after so long I will include this person in my posting since I am no longer in service for him (See boss I still have my work ethics intact when I'm working for you, too bad you refuse to see it).
With teachers day fast approaching I wonder how many teachers agreed with the whiteys of a degree being unimportant. Why would the whiteys not want an educated workforce?
Would the ministers be where they are without higher educations? Would they too discourage their children from obtaining a degree since even without one if they are in civil servants the path of promotions and success would be in par with those with a degree. Quote from PM Office "non-graduates can expect to see faster promotions and the possibility of receiving the same salary as graduates in the public service if they perform well at work".
Of course a degree is not a matter of life and death but any parents would have encouraged their children to the road of success. Does it meant now we stop at ITE/Poly and feel satisfied? Not a bad deal as it saves us parents lots of heartache, cashes, efforts and the pain of seeing our children mugged during exam time.
So teachers, parents what say you? What kind of message are you gonna relay to your children in future. Stop at two? OOPPPPSSS! I meant stop at ITE? Stop at Poly? Let the aliens earn the degree with scholarships in the house?
I wonder which Ministers deserve to be awarded the most Awesome, mind blowing, wonderful quotes of all times of how unimportant education has become in our local context?
HAPPY TEACHERS DAY!
