I refer to "New Citizens Get Priority NDP Tickets While Singaporeans Are Rejected Over 10 Years".

Netizens have expressed that we should boycott NDP. Comments such as "I have boycotted watching or anything to do with NDP. Just another way they wanna brainwash us. I am not going to sing any song related to Singapore, for she has been raped by foreigners, fully paid for by PAP."

"as a native singaporean why do you need NDP tickets anyway ??? you are going to be thrown out of your country soon so nothing to celebrate lor !.... true story 1i will not glorify the PAP by attending i would attend if its the peoples celebration AND NOT THE RULING PARTYS flag waving wayang"

Initially, I thought I was the only one having the same sentiment but after reading these netizens comments, maybe there are quite a lot of us who want to boycott NDP too.

1) My dislike for NDP started in Secondary 2. At that time, my secondary school was infested with many Malaysians and PRCs who want to study in my school as it offered Higher Chinese as their language.

Our school was selected to 'perform' in that year and my initial jubilation turned to disappointment when some of my PRC friends spoke to the PE teacher in charge and said that they wanted to withdraw because they felt it was because of their nationality. These PRC students were not Singapore citizens but were foreign students invited by MOE to study in Singapore on scholarships.

My PE Teacher excused them. Even though these PRC people were quite ok, but their failure to integrate with us for NDP rehearsals were a major sore point for local students.

The rehearsals were fucking tiring as well. After school, the whole secondary 2 and 3 had to trudge our way to the open field opposite Science Centre and perform the stunts on a weekly basis. For 3 whole months, we endured the heat while our PRC friends managed to go back to their hostels in Bukit Timah (Hwa Chong) to revise for their tests or do their assignments.

2) My second encounter with NDP was during my National Service when we had to be the 'crowd control' for the crowd. It wasn't a very good experience too. For the one month of rehearsal, it was hot, and on some days, it was wet and we were the 'free' labour sai kang warriors where we had to carry carpets, equipment and be fucked by those sergeant majors when they were in the bad mood.

3) My final straw that broke the camel's back was my working stint in People's Association.

Many NDP tickets were given free to those grassroot leaders who may indirectly pass these tickets to new citizens or pro-PAP supporters. That is why sometimes, you may wonder how come new citizens get to watch NDP so easily while the native local born bred Singaporeans can hardly get their tickets through balloting. This is a serious form of double standard and to add insult to injury, these new citizens get the luxury to sit in the parade and to watch local Singaporeans 'perform' on stage for free.

This is the greatest rape of all kind.

Something is not quite right with our country. NDP only sugar-coats it and makes it as though everything is well and ok with Singaporeans.

If you truly feel strongly about this, share it among your friends and boycott this event.

Reserve anger, energy and our last burst of fire by attending rallies for the General Elections 2015/ 2016.

That will be Our National Day Parade where no foreigners can vote and attend.
