If the current dissatisfaction level of the citizens are as high as the internet suggests, why does everyone wait till the 2016 election? Last I checked, we are still a democracy (according to the national pledge at least), and that means that we can vote out anyone we want anytime, as long as the required number of votes is met.
If the PAP insists on running this country like a business, then I shall use a business analogy here. If an MNC is failing, the board will not stick to some sort of 5 year voting cycle to make decisions for him. They will immediately discuss and vote him out. In this case, the citizens are the board members and the government is the CEO.
If the entire majority of the country does not acknowledge the PAP as government then there is nothing they can do as well, and thus a democracy is created. Sure, the minority will be unhappy but at least the country is now a democracy. Whichever new government takes over, hopefully they will do a better job or face the same fate. This is the true way to run a business, and if the PAP insists on running a country like one, then it should face the consequences of it.
Now, I'm not advocating that one government is better than another, or one system is better than another. But it is time for the people to be heard, if the majority thinks a particular system is better, so be it. At least if it fails you can blame the majority. As for me, I will nullify all my votes from now on because frankly, I think that they are all idiots. It is like choosing the lesser clown. Less than a handful of them in 2011 could string a half-coherent sentence. And these are the people that will be the face of the country. I guess not, I rather have my broken chair be the Prime minister, they serve the same function anyway.
