Dear The Real Singapore,
I refer to the article:
I'm a Muslim firstly and I hope I can express my view and opinion in a nice way.
I just came back from a holiday in Thailand, I saw a lot of gay clubs, gay people and lady boys. They even tried to touch me and drag me into one of the clubs. But I politely refused and I walked away. But they are nice people.
Obviously Singapore does not condone such clubs or acts here.
But this campaign 'Wear White", I feel that it is inciting hate towards the LGBT community. Whilst Pink Dot is held on the 1st day of Ramadan, it's merely a coincidence. 28th June is a Saturday so that's why they are holding the Pink Dot, similar to previous years which was held on a Saturday.
We as Muslims shouldn't judge or hate someone from the LGBT community or from another religion. We shouldn't be so narrow-minded. We are not taught to judge because it makes us lower than the person we are judging. I'm not saying that I'm perfect and I don't judge anyone. I think we shouldn't make a big hoo-ha about Pink Dot just because it falls on the 1st day of Ramadan.
Firstly, the Pink Dot event does not concern, disturb, bother or harm Muslims. Neither do the LGBT community.
If the LGBT community is harming us or forcing their LGBT rights down our throats, then we should do something.
But they aren't. We should let them be.
We can only advise our own children, our own people (Muslims) that being homosexual is wrong. We shouldn't shove our beliefs down the throats of non-Muslims.
Why do WE Muslims think homosexual is wrong? (My belief, understand mine and I'll understand yours too)
We feel that it is 'unnatural'. While 2 men or 2 women can adopt and raise children, we feel that they do not contribute to society. They're being selfish. Mainly because they don't have any offspring. You may think that the LGBT community is small, but if everyone starts adopting and your children adopts, then there is no more offspring if the cycle continues.
That's why Singapore has a law against homosexuals. If everyone is homosexual, whether or not they adopt, they do not produce the next generation of Singaporeans. Singaporeans will start decreasing and probably be replaced by foreigners and soon Singapore will be gone.
I have friends who are homosexual and I do not tease them on their sexual preference. I don't hate homosexuals. I respect their decision. I do not feel that we should incite hate and start a campaign against the LGBT community. We should just let them be. If we have Muslim friends or family members that are homosexual, then we should advise them. We shouldn't hate or judge them. We should help one another.
For the non-Muslims, whether you're Chinese, Malay,Indian or Eurasian, I respect your decision on being homosexual and whatever you want to do. Just don't hate on Islam or us. We all should be more understanding and respect each others' beliefs. Respect my belief and I'll respect yours. Stop the hate.
