New SAFRA club in Punggol to be opened in 2016

The full details of the SAFRA club in Punggol was revealed yesterday.

Construction of the club, which is estimated to cost about $57.3million, will be completed by early 2016 and will feature many F&B outlets, recreational facilities and fitness gyms.

The SAFRA club will also feature an indoor water playground called “The Deep Sea” and it will focus on being a family recreation facility.

There will also be a childcare centre located within the club, making it especially suited or NS men with children.

DPM and Minister for Home Affairs, Teo Chee Hean, said that this new development will be “the most exciting new development in Singapore”.

Terence Quek, the Chairman of the SAFRA Punggol Development Committee explained that the club aims to cater to the needs of families in Punggol. Punggol is a newer estate with many young couples with young children living there.

Currently, there are 70,000 NSmen who live in the North-east of Singapore.

SAFRA will also be improving some of their existing clubs at Tampines and Mount Faber with all renewal works to be completed by 2018.

In the future, SAFRA is also aiming to open a clubhouse in the North-West.
