On the 27th of May 2014, I read Inderjit Singh's response to the President Address. Link below.

As with many Singaporeans, I agreed with his observations and his understanding of the causes that have landed Singaporeans in such a mess today. As I was in a hurry, I made a hasty but polite Personal Message to him, requesting for his resignation as such an action would force the government to urgently deal with the issues on hand today such as the foreign influx. I also mentioned that there wasn't any other PAP MP in whom I could make such (an audacious) request.
In a reply, the Ang Mo Kio GRC MP thanked me for my note but declined to accede to my request.
As far as I can remember, besides the accolades even from some opposition supporters, the response from many Singaporeans in recent years to his speeches, and those from a few other PAP MPs, can be summed up in just one word.
Wayang.
It is not difficult to understand their frustration and cynicism. By voicing out publicly and siding with the critics of government policies, Inderjit Singh has the potential to draw some disgruntled voters to him and, ultimately, to his GRC team which includes the Prime Minister.
I want to take a different route on this otherwise obvious reasoning.
During the bitter PWP debate last year, Inderjit Singh called for a 5-year breather in growing the population. He also mentioned he had a big issue with the number of PRs and new citizens the government is planning to add to the population. Link below.

During the budget debate last year, he called on the government to adopt a formal minimum wage system. Link below.

Sadly, we know all these have not happened.
If MP Inderjit Singh takes up my suggestion of resigning from his seat, and thereby building up pressure for a by-election in Ang Mo Kio GRC, he will be immortalised as a true-blue Singaporean who puts nation before self and nation before party.
Then real difference may start to happen.
