The Best Accountants, Social Workers, HR People I've Worked With Are S'poreans

I feel compelled to pen this down due to the complexity of feelings within me as it’s really overwhelming..It’s like being very alone and no one can fully understand.

Many of us have witnessed foreigners invasion in areas such as finance, HR, social workers and even simple admin work or customer service line.

For those who work in the accounting line, HR line or social work line, we have noticed an influx of foreigners from Vietnam, Philippines and Hong Kong respectively. 

For those who are in the accounting line, we need to be certified CPA, which is a cert which allows us to be auditors.

For those who are in the HR line, we need a strong knowledge of Employment Act, compensation and benefits and understanding of local laws.

For those in the social work line, we need to be registered with the Singapore Association of Social Workers to be able to practice our work in hospitals to do things such as means testing.

But time and time again, we have seen Vietnamese accountants, Philippinos HR practitioners and Hong Kong social workers fucked us up in Singapore when they work here. 

How can our PAP Ministers, in good conscience and faith, claim that these foreigners are here to improve our salaries when all they do is to fuck things up?

In my present workplace, we witnessed how a Vietnamese accountant who claims to be an accountant in Vietnam having to struggle when it comes to audit reporting. I wonder how come MOM can approve her work permit easily. 

She is a new citizen who is here to improve PAP's votes and claims to have 2 degrees but we suspect that her degrees are not internationally recognised.

Basically, she loves to micro-manage and has a violent temper. 

At that time, most of us believed that she was mentally ill, mentally sick but did not seek medical attention as she regarded the discipline to lead a regimental life as a test of faith in Jesus Christ. It was as if a voice told her that she was the third story of the Bible, that she was like the second coming of Jesus (and that) she was to save people from a life of meaningless purpose. 

Her insecurity and paranoia went even beyond the level that you would expect from someone who is a control freak. Her fantasies of omnipotence blended with her paranoia. In many, she played the role of absolute ruler. It wasn't just that she loved order; it was necessary for her survival. A lack of order, supposed chaos and dirt threw her completely. 

Rules were just as important as order. She could get wrapped up for hours in instructions on how to do something and followed them fastidiously. 

A simple task of walking from point A to point B was a major drama production itself. 

1) She is very particular about alignments and spacing. If you are unable to see clearly on the computer screen, print it out before you submit to her. But print it out only when she goes to toilet as she doesn't like you to waste paper.

2) Every assignment that she gives you, try to give about 3 to 4 days. Even if the topic is very easy such as sourcing for caterers, pretend that you have tried your best. She doesn't like one day's work and thinks you rush through. Give yourself 3 to 4 days so that she knows that you worked hard enough.

3) She loves giving appraisal to her subordinates. She implemented a monthly appraisal and all her remarks were negative. Trivial things such as "sneezing too loudly" and "late for 5 minutes" were written into the appraisal. She would claim that it's for improvement but it's her revenge tool for fixing people and to inflate her ego. 

4) But for her own appraisal, she likes to claim credit and inflate her score to A+. For example, she can claim that she helped in IT data migration when she has zero knowledge in server maintenance.

5) Try not to talk too much about religion stuff. She has this habit of trying people to convert to Christianity and believe in Jesus Christ or go for miracle healings etc even though some of us are Catholics or Buddhists. 

6) She has a very nasty temper in the morning even after her Christian morning prayers. Most of us try not to greet her or talk to her in the morning. She once used the word "Fuck You" on another male subordinate after he was a bit slow in his work.
