Dear The Real Singapore,

I want to share with your readers quite an interesting video from the Council of Ex-Muslims Britain. It is interesting to note that many muslims like to claim that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the west but fail to explain that there are some who are forced to remain muslim even if they don't believe in Islam.

Maryam Namazie, ex-muslim secularist, speaks out against political Islam. Islam is only benign if it is kept in the mosque, it can be dangerous when it seeps into politics.

Also, take note that criticizing is not racism. Islam is an ideology and like all ideology, it is not immune to criticism. Criticizing beliefs =/= Criticizing believers.

Most ex-muslims are still closeted as the consequences of being openly ex-muslims still carry a heavy stigma, even in a secular country like Singapore. People like Maryam Namazie is an inspiration and gives hope that one day, ex-muslims can be free.
