Dear TRS ,
I am sure that the recent saga of the celebration of Independence Day must have offended a lot of Singaporeans. Even the leaders we elected for to serve the citizens also side with foreigners .
Well , I am sure no Singaporeans hate foreigners . They are just come here to make a living . But in recent years, the massive immigration did affect most of us, overcrowding, competition for jobs , stagnant wages , some industries like f and b, construction, security, cleaning, paying peanuts and a lot of overtime work. Guess what? A surgery recently shown most Singaporeans are burn out by the long working hours . The fact that our leaders we elected, did not serve us well or being a representative of Singaporeans, further rub salt into the wound by calling us bigots and xenophobic .
Most of us are just airing out our views that it was not wise to even hold the celebration outdoor( Ngee ann civic plaza are the outdoor area) simply, the current gov we have are just out of touch with the citizens .most of us does affected by their bad policies they created. Instead of being more empathy with the citizens, they side with foreigners .
But i hope most Singaporeans do not bash against foreigners too. They are just come here to make a living . If you guys want to blame, aim at the gov instead for bringing the whole lots of them to disturb our scenic peace . Lastly, before I end my sentence , I wish to say a big thank you to the American that sided with us all this while. No doubt , he has earned my respect for speaking out for us.
