Police arrested 11 suspects and confiscated over $300,000 worth of fake designer handbags and jewellery on Thursday in a raid on Scotts Road.
The items were taken from six shops and also included things like phone and tablet cases with popular cartoon characters printed on them.
The raid was operated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) which had conducted probes over the last few months into the illicit activities of the operators there.
Nine men and 2 women were arrested for the sale of copyright infringing goods such as bags featuring luxury brandnames and phone cases with unauthorised designs of cartoon characters.
A police spokesperson said that the authorities will take strict action against pirates who sell counterfeit goods and reminded the public that these fake brand names and unauthorised use of copyright characters on phone cases are illegal goods.
