According to a survey of over 4,200 people, 88.5% of people are 'satisfied' with Singapore's public transport.
The survey was commissioned by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and conducted by UniSIM.
This figures broke down into 88.9% feeling satisfied with the MRT and 88.3% satisfied with the buses.
This is actually the lowest level of satisfaction since 2007, but many netizens have questioned how accurate these figures are.
Especially given the huge number of breakdowns and delays seen already this year, particularly on the MRT, it seems amazing that 88.9% of people are satisfied with the MRT system.
2014 was off to a very rough start with 3 major disruptions occurring in January followed by more delays and disruptions in February.
On top of this, there was huge public anger when the public transport operators filed to raise fares and were given approval for the fare hike. Many netizens felt that there has been no improvement in service standards and there is little justification for fare hikes.
Do you belong to the 88.5% who are 'satisfied' with our public transport system?
