It is important that both Singaporeans and foreigners alike need to understand that the divide and anti- sentiments in Singapore are driven by a divisive government which in its want to accumulate more wealth for itself, is willing to entrench the divisions among the people.
It is important for the people in Singapore to understand that when a government is fair and create policies that are fair to the people in Singapore, all people in our country and our society can livepeacefully and at ease at one another.
It is myopic if the people here choose to get angry at one another, without realising the impact of how badly-crafted policies has resulted in our social relationships being threatened.
We need to understand that we need turn our attention to what is rightfully the root cause - bad policies.
And if we are unable to change the policies because of a political party in government which refuses to do so, then the only recourse is to remove this party from government.
Only when we have a government which listens to the people and protects the people - all peoples in Singapore - will we have a country and society which can advance together.
It is important that we stop the tirade at one another - doing so is just a cowardly attempt at voicing out against things because we don't dare to take on the larger prepertrators of the inequality in Singapore.
If we want change, change doesn't come by hurting another. Change comes by us speaking out against the political party which refuses to respond to, and protect the people, and install a government that will have the interests of the people at heart.
If we want to be proud of Singapore, lets start by doing something that we can be proud of.
