When should a foreigner leave Singapore for good?

Personally, I've the opportunities to meet many wonderful foreigners and the misfortune of encountering unpleasant ones too. Amidst the ferocious rise in anti-foreign sentiment and Singaporean-bashing in recent years, any foreigner living in this overcrowded island should ponder over this inevitable question.

It may be a good time to quit if you are in any of these states:

1. You feel there are too many Singaporeans around you.

You were having a good time with your fellow countrymen until a Singaporean passed by, reminding you that you are in Singapore.

2. You believe every country in the world belongs to everyone.

You resent that the authorities do not grant all of your fellow countrymen their wishes to work, live or bring their families along.

3. Singaporeans are just lucky to be born here.

4. Our Singlish sucks.

5. Everything a Singaporean does or says irritates you.

6. You wish more Singaporeans will migrate so that your people will form the majority one day.

7. You do not have any local friend.

8. You brag about the vastness of your country and snigger that Singaporeans have the audacity to consider this city a country.

9. Singaporeans are not willing to adapt to your culture.

10. Your workpass has expired.

Familiarity breeds contempt or absence makes the heart fonder.
Based on normal human nature, your animosity of Singaporeans will diminish after you have left this congested city and focus on your new life.

Never look back.

Changi International Airport is open 24/7.

For you.
