Every time, we readers read about how PAP uses their gahmen bodies to bully opposition held wards, many of us feel indignant and yet helpless.
Most of the time, WP cannot do anything but to comply with the rulings and policies made by the incumbent government.
In Singapore, we have one of the most vengeful-seeking, sore losers country leaders in the world.
Besides Operation Coldstore, Operation Spectrum and suing opposition leaders for defamation and MDA Licensing Act.
PAP also uses stats boards as their tools to punish opposition held wards and make policies that are unfavourable to citizens. For example,
1) NEA. Hawkers department has been politicised until it has blown to a lawsuit.
2) People's Association - Grassroots advisor (a PAP member) has all the funds and access to give out bursary awards and other events.
3) Land Transport Authority - Discontinuation of feeder services in Potong Pasir and reluctance to name MRT station as Potong Pasir but as Senett.
4) HDB - withholding of estate upgrading and lift upgrading works.
5) MOE - imports China nationals such as Sun Xu only to insult us and call us 'dogs'
6) MOM - allows foreign talents such as Anton Casey to insult us and call us 'poor people'.
In the next General Elections, it is very likely that PAP will lose more seats in Marine Parade, Tampines, East Coast, Nee Soon and Jln Besar etc.
If that is the case, I can predict that PAP will even politicise trivial issues until it becomes gridlock and residents will suffer even more.
In a matrimonial dispute, if two opposing parents continue to fight and quarrel, it serves no benefits to the child.
It may be time to seriously consider an alternative government formed by the people, for the people. We will no longer be held hostage to PAP and can free ourselves of the bondage of a political party who only knows how to threaten its own citizens.
And why not? I believe it is possible if opposition parties can work together and share common goals with a one country, two systems.
We have seen how countries such as Canada giving some autonomy and sovereign status to Quebec. Quebec has also voted for independence in the 1990s and tried to break away until Canada gave it sovereign rights to govern itself.
In the last GE, 40 per cent voted against the PAP because we want a party that will be our humble servant. We should work towards forming an alternative government and stop hoping that PAP can reinvent/ change itself.
