5 Things To Do Post-Transport Fee Hike

Our dear public transport council has recently told us about the rise in transport fares. This news came in the midst of all the SMRT breakdowns so people were not happy lah of course. So what can you do as a consumer?

KPKB More

Talking out can be therapeutic, the more you kb about SMRT, maybe you will feel better about the hike. If you don't, just KPKB anyway, because words are free, because you need more likes on Facebook, because you don't know what to say during a date. Seriously, we must thank SMRT, because it makes us more sociable.

Also...

I sincerely believe that there are more breakdowns to come, so you don't have to worry about running out of things to say. Maybe just update your vocabulary of curses, I think it a bit boring if everyone keep using 'TY'

Difficulty level: 1/5 because you can do this while lying at home.

KPKB As A PAP Member

I want nobody nobody but you!

Mr Lee said: “By all means, let off steam … but don’t stop there. Join the PAP, fight for what you believe in, change what is not good and help the zeng hu (‘government’ in Hokkien) so there’s less need for other people to ‘kao peh kao bu’.”

Today Online - PAP leaders call on activists to ‘fight for what it believes in’- December 9 2013

Our PM Lee has told us to join the PAP, so for those who are passionate about transport prices... join them and offer your suggestions within the party!! The only risk you will face is that other people will kpkb about you like that good doctor in Sengkang.

Difficulty level: 5/5 because you need to be intellectual (the PAP way) and some people... simply just aren't.

Buy Stocks And Shares

huat ah!!

We have seen people who declared that they are traitors because they have bought SMRT shares and as shareholders, they want the company to profit as much as possible. You know the saying "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'"? Since there is virtually nothing we can do about the price hike legally, you should consider buying some shares to offset the negative effects from the hike and other stuff like inflation and loans. Now I am not a pro at stock picking, so don't ask me how to invest. Remember, don't just buy only SMRT stocks, there are a lot more companies waiting for you to explore and they can potentially give you higher yields.

Difficulty level: 4/5 especially for a non-business graduate. Do take your time to study.

Avoid Public Transport At All Cost

This is the best way to counter any price hike - not taking public transport!

According to Anton Casey, our trains stink, so by not taking public transport we wouldn't be stinky as well.  That's a plus don't you think?

Difficulty level 5/5 sigh, COE is expensive, we are 'poor people' and not everyone has a Porsche lying around :)

Go Hong Lim

That's the only place where we can gather and talk about things as a large group.
There is a mass gathering (sorry, I have to play safe and not use the word 'p_____') on Saturday, 25 Jan 2013 at Hong Lim.

Details are here on this facebook event page so if you are free and feel angry enough, drop by and give these guys some support. I am sure they worked as hard (or if not more) than the PTC on this gathering. The weather these few days have been pretty awesome too! You can go there and have a picnic and enjoy the 'Singaporean' atmosphere.

Difficulty level: 3/5 because it is weekends and we just want to lie in bed

I know, i know, many of us are unhappy about the fare hike announcement, especially since SMRT keeps on breaking down like no tomorrow. Just a tiny reminder that you should not do or say anything illegal or stupid because while some people get deported and other fled (ahem, Amy ah Amy), we will get send into prison ok?
