The authorities also have a role to play in managing the burning of incense paper

I refer to the recent viral video showing a conflict between neighbours following the burning of incense papers near a HDB block.

The video already has over 2,300 shares and well over 1000 comments.

The biggest morons here are not the Chinese who burn incense and not the unhappy Malays but the blardy HDB / Town council who allow this... If a permit was required and applied for then they should have advised these folks to burn incense in an open area further away from neighbouring homes.

To curb this problem, we must go straight to the ppl who allow and permit these. Chinese will always burn incense NO MATTER what, they wont wake up one day and say, 'Hey, I will never burn incense again', thats like a Muslim waking up saying, 'Hey, Im not gonna puasa again...'... cannot what..... and burning of incense will never and should never be banned... it is their right to practice their religion the way their ancestors thought them...

In my humble opinion, my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, going up to a group of Chinese who are praying and telling them to burn elsewhere is NOT right... it is a very insensitive thing to do and puts us Muslims in a bad light. How would we (Muslims) feel if our weddings or prayers were interrupted by our pesky neighbours whom we thought were our friends?

Though tolerance should be the keyword in our multi-cultural society, no-one can stop anyone from going to the authorities to ask for certain changes and demand action.
The cops should have advised the complainants the proper procedures and never allowed the 2 parties to exchange words with each other. It will only spurn more problems.

I am actually amazed at how calm the Chinese were when they were interrupted in this manner.... sadly, can we say the same if they came and interrupted us? Would we have been so calm?

Moral of the story, PHUCK da relevant authorities who allowed this.

Love and be loved..
