Don’t bank with ANZ bank. It is not a trustworthy bank.
Back in August 2013, I called in to cancel my money line account. The operator assured me that it will be done. However, records at credit bureau keeps showing that I have an active account with them.
I called in again December 2013 and the operator assured me that the account has been closed. However, a further check recently with the credit bureau shows that the account is still active.
I called in again in January 2014 to confirm if the account is closed. To my horror, the operator said the account is still active. According to him, back in August 2013, I had agreed for a retention call back. As I did not pick up my call, hence the account is still Active. And the system has no record of me calling in December 2013.
I requested that ANZ close my account promptly and update the credit bureau. It was only then the operator offered to send closure statement to me. This is the only way to ensure that a specific agreed action has been carried out.
I hope you find my sharing useful especially for those who are in the process of applying for home loans.
Lastly, I was quite annoyed that I could not understand the slang of the operators, who are clearly not Singaporeans.
