Now before i start blabbering about the unfairness of life, i am NOT going to go for a sex change.
I do like my gender very much, despite its negatives. Moving on...
This post will discuss 5 reasons why its better to be a woman in Singapore. Maybe one day ill write a post about the 3 reasons why being a man is better... But oh well, this'll have to do for now.
1) Women need not serve NS
This reason is plain and simple really. Every SG man has to go through 2 years+ of NS, followed by 10 years of reservist. In today's day and age, i honestly feel that NS isn't necessary. Instead, Singapore should be looking to source for individuals who are genuinely interested to serve, and pay them more. With the technology today, most warfare equipment are unmanned, i say quality over quantity.
2) In the event of a divorce, women are entitled to 50% of the man's assets.
I recall a friend once telling me she wouldn't mind marrying a multimillionaire for a few years and then divorce him and claiming his assets. While not everybody thinks that way, i'm saying that there's definitely a flaw in the law if we want women to be independent, no? Isn't it all about gender equality these days?
3) Women still do get chivalry from men
From little things like opening of doors, paying of meals and buying gifts, its easy to see why women still have the upper hand when it comes to the dating game. While i know of some who are actually independent and do not expect chivalry from men, i think its safe to say that every girl would want to date a guy who's chivalrous, no? Society is still leaning a bit towards the traditional beliefs when it comes to this.
4) Women are given a whole lot more benefits when it comes to shopping
Don't try to argue with me here. From women's credit cards with exclusive shopping priviledges, to the fact that almost everything we can buy (from supermarket to luxury goods) is catered to women more than men. This is of course justifiable by the fact that women spend more than men, have more clothing choices than men etc etc (thats another reason why its better to be a woman too btw)
But still, its undeniable that women are given more shopping priviledges than men
5) You have the wonderful excuse of "PMS" and "MS". I know plenty of women who're guilty of this. Don't think we men don't know about it.
Feeling moody? --> PMS.
Said something you shouldn't have? --> PMS
Don't feel like going school/work today? --> Cramps --> MC.
Feeling tired at work/school? --> Cramps
Now these are just a few excuses but we men know the 101 excuses you ladies have. Worst still, we have NO CHOICE but to deal with it. Simply because its biological. So one week of every month everybody has to tahan all the BS PMS-y symptoms and then another week of the month we have to deal with the cramps and mood swings etc.
-- Please understand, When you are suffering from your cramps, EVERYONE around you suffers as well.. LOL --
So, half of your lives you can use PMS or Cramps as an excuse for things you regretted doing. And while Science HAS proven that men go through the same symptoms (we men have like 3 days every month when we feel pms-y too FYI) we can't possibly blame our moodiness on that now can we? Imagine how ridiculous we'd sound saying "Its that time of the month again"
Extra --> Women live on average 4 years longer than men.
Still not convinced? read on.
Extra2 --> Women are proven to be able to multi-task better than men due to their left and right brain naturally having more connections with one another.

This post is obviously a rant on all the unfairness of life. But we all have to deal with it.
As great as it is to be a women, they do come with some terrible setbacks!
1) Women are 100x more likely than men to be a victim of RAPE and Sexual Abuse.
Well, the random statistics obviously came from me, myself and i, but you get the point here. Read the newspapers, its like every other day, another lady gets sexually abused. You poor things :\
2) Women are EXPENSIVE. Period.
As great as having more clothing choices, more accessories, more makeup and what not, it all comes at a price. For those who can't find a "Sponsor" for all those Gucci or Prada or YSL or Vuitton, it can be extremely taxing on your salary or allowance to keep up with your peers.
3) ???
Okay, i'm out of ideas here. Why don't you women comment and let me know? Surprise me with your rants and complaints about being a Lady!
Disagree with the post? Got something to rant about? Let me know!
Hope you liked this little post! Please share it with your friends if you do :)
